Wierdest thing

I was in a class room and I was asked a question but failed to answer it.My teacher pointed a ruler at me and said "At the end of this ruler is an idiot" and like that wasn't bad enough I got detention afterwards.Why?Simply  because I said "Sir,what end of the ruler are you referring to?"
